Wheel Wrap Decals Instructions
Motorcycle Wheel Wrap Decal Application Guide
Materials Needed
- Warm water and soap
- Isopropyl alcohol
- Clean cloth or paper towels
- Decal strips
- Hair dryer or heat gun
- Soft cloth or glove for pressing
Step-by-Step Instructions
Important: Make sure the wheel temperature is above 15°C (not just the air temperature). If the wheel is too cold, a thin layer of moisture can form and prevent the decal from sticking properly.
Clean the Wheels
Wash the wheels thoroughly with warm water and soap. This removes dirt and dust that could prevent the decals from sticking well.
Dry the Wheels
Make sure the wheels are completely dry. Use a clean cloth or let them air dry. Even a little moisture can stop the decals from sticking.
Remove Remaining Dirt and Grease
Wipe down the wheels with isopropyl alcohol to remove any leftover dirt or grease. This step helps the decals stick better.
Align the Decal
Position the decal at the desired starting point along the wheel rim. Ensure the edges are aligned for even placement.
Check the Alignment
Double-check the alignment, making sure the decal sits perfectly along the rim’s edge. Adjust if necessary.
Apply Heat
Use a heat gun or hair dryer to lightly warm the decal, making it more flexible and easier to apply.
Press the Decal from the Center Outwards
Starting from the middle of the rim lip, press the decal down slowly towards the edges.Tip: Use a rug or wrap glove to make pressing smoother and more precise.
Secure the Remaining Decal
Gently press the rest of the decal inward, ensuring it fully adheres to the rim.
Check for Air Bubbles or Creases
If air bubbles or creases appear, lift the decal slightly, apply more heat, and press down again.
Apply the Second Decal
Repeat the process for the second decal. Ensure equal spacing between decals on each side of the wheel.
Complete the Remaining Sides
Follow the same steps for the rest of the wheel’s sides until the entire rim is covered.
Aftercare Instructions
Allow the decals to set for 24 hours before riding, avoid washing or applying pressure for at least 3 days, and check the edges after 24 hours, applying heat if necessary to reinforce adhesion.
